Almorzar: Spanish Verb Conjugation

Eating is fun. Knowing how to talk about food and meals in other languages is also fun. In Spanish, there is a very specific verb to refer to the action of "having lunch" or "eating lunch", and that is almorzar. Although many Spanish speakers tend to use comer (to eat) when talking about meals, almorzar is the word you want to use for a mid-day meal.

In terms of conjugation, almorzar is an irregular verb, and as such, there are both spelling and stem changes to remember. But worry not! Most –zar ending verbs tend to follow the same rule, so once you’ve learned one, you will be familiar with a whole verb family. Here is how the conjugation goes:
